Final piece for the Master of Furniture program at the School of Wood & Design (Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany)
The A-OK Drawing Table is a completely disassemblable standing-height desk made of black oiled local ash and linoleum. Modelled after the structure of a traditional artist’s easel, this piece was created to provide optimal surfaces for working ergonomically and for storage and display of the beautiful tools of the trade; paintbrushes, pens, rulers, books etc..
Made with little to no hardware, this table offers a haptically pleasing assembly process using hand-cut wood screws and knobs. Its magnetic drawing surface can be taken completely out of its spring-loaded pocket in the middle of the table and set up at a 15deg angle to provide both horizontal and slanted working surfaces.
